Meeting the Parents (6)

His latest post was a picture of a marriage certificate.

【Shit! Have y’all noticed this account He and Little Lin follow each other!】

【Who’s Little Lin】

【Omg, that person’s a new assistant at Xi-laoshi’s studio】

When Xi Chengyun’s fans noticed this, they too immediately joined in.

【I’ve scrolled through his Weibo page and he has posts related to Xi-laoshi.

He’s likely a fan of Xi-laoshi.

It’s nothing unusual for fans and the people working under the studio to follow each other ~ I myself follow A-Da and he follows me back too】

However, the more people in the forum continued to dig, the more they realized something indescribable.

【Although this writer didn’t mention anything about which city he’s living in or which university he’s studying in, as we flip through his Weibo, we can clearly see that 10 of his posts are somewhat related to Jing City’s landmarks.

Out of those, seven of them are reposts of posts related to Jing University】

【So】

【Did y’all really forget which university Best Actor Xi went to that day】

【It was Jing University… Shit man! 】

Xi Chengyun’s fans were dumbfounded by the discovery.

They didn’t think that the cake would fall on Xi-ge’s plate.

The Jiang family house is located in a relatively wealthy and well-known community.

When they first got out of the car, Xi Chengyun didn’t immediately lead Bai Qi into the house.

Instead, he said to him in a low voice, “Han Si, erm, that is Jiang Fangcheng’s fiance, well, her grandmother may not be able to hold out for much longer.

So they’re planning to hold their engagement banquet a few days earlier.

I wanted to get our marriage certificate yesterday because I was thinking that it would be a little better if you got married before him.”

Would it be a little better

Bai Qi gave it some thought and concluded that true, it did feel a little better.

Just then, the gateway of the villa opened.

A steward, dressed as if he were a butler of a medieval British nobleman walked towards them, bowing as he greeted, “Eldest Young Master.”

Then, the steward proceeded to stare fixedly at Bai Qi.

His gaze was utterly disrespectful and perhaps even a little intruding as he sized him up.

Similarly, Bai Qi examined the man before him.

Then, he gave a lazy yawn and leaned against Xi Chengyun.

Just like this, they continued walking inward with Bai Qi resting against Xi Chengyun.

The steward clenched his jaw and gave a stern glare at Bai Qi, looking at him as if he were looking at a huli jing*.

He watched them as they went into the villa.

*huli jing (狐狸精) lit.

means ‘fox spirit’, a Chinese mythological creature; also used to refer to someone as seductress

When they entered, people were talking in the living room.

First came a girl’s voice, she whined, saying, “I’ve got no idea what Jiang Fangcheng has been up to these days.

He’s always unavailable.”

Then, a slightly aged voice came about, laughing as he said, “Let me try to talk to him.

He’ll be here soon.”

Just as he said that he seemed to have heard footsteps coming from the outside.

Thus, he quickly laughed and said, “Well, what do you know! Isn’t he here now”

Bai Qi and Xi Chengyun entered the room.

A middle-aged man, clothed in a Tang suit was seated on the sofa with a walking stick in hand.

The smile on his face instantly vanished when he saw Xi Chengyun.

That wasn’t even that big of a deal.

When he noticed who was beside Xi Chengyun, the death stare he had on Bai Qi was even more exaggerated than the steward’s, it was as if his eyeballs were going to pop out of their sockets at any moment.

Seated beside the middle-aged man was a young woman who seemed to be in her mid-twenties.

She was well dressed, clothed in a CHANEL suit.

She curiously took a glance at the doorway.

Astonishment flickered in her eyes when she saw Bai Qi and Xi Chengyun.

She should be Jiang Fangcheng’s fiance, Han Si.

She’s pretty good-looking.

Bai Qi thought to himself.

Han Si opened her mouth, seeming to want to say something.

Nevertheless, the middle-aged man broke the silence first.

He quickly stood up, hand clutching onto his chest as he furiously hissed, “This… This is your marriage partner He… he… isn’t he…”

Halfway through, the middle-aged man seemed to have recalled something.

Then, he hastily stopped, swallowing the rest of his sentence back down his throat.

Immediately, Bai Qi understood.

This was Jiang Fangcheng’s father.

The Secretary of Father Jiang had attempted to contact him, although he was unsuccessful in the end.

All this meant that, at the very least, Father Jiang already knew who he was through Jiang Fangcheng.

Thus, to see him standing alongside Xi Chengyun… Ah, he should be quite surprised indeed.

Bai Qi blinked, the words ‘innocent’ and ‘pure’ written all over his face.

The expression that Father Jiang had was very contorted when he saw Bai Qi.

He was absolutely furious, he looked as if he was going to faint in anger.

“Get… get the hell out of here…” Jiang’s father gritted through his teeth.

Xi Chengyun was level-headed despite the circumstances.

He looked at his father, carrying no extra expressions on his face.

All he did was gently ask, “What did you say Could you repeat yourself please”

Father Jiang was suddenly at a loss of words.

He remained silent.

Han Si also noticed that someone was up.

She held onto Father Jiang and acted as his support.

Then, she started to stroke his back as she said, “What happened to you Xi-ge may have brought a boy back home, but what’s the big deal Same-sex marriages are legal now.”

A mouthful of blood was stuck in Father Jiang’s throat.

Yet, he couldn’t share his resentment with Han Si.

His younger child went down the wrong path and found himself a boyfriend.

After much difficulty, he finally got back on the right track and was now engaged to a girl.

Now, without any warning, his elder son was suddenly engaged to the ex-boyfriend of his younger brother.

Absolutely ridiculous!

This was absolutely ridiculous!
