I’m Your Dad (1)

Xi Chengyun found himself in a very strange situation.

To him, acting was like a second skin, it came naturally.

Yet, now, he found it a little difficult to do so.

His eyes darted, and at that moment, it met with Bai Qi’s bright eyes.

Xi Chengyun paused, he then placed a hand on the back of Bai Qi’s chair while the other gently pressed against the book in front of Bai Qi.

“How many pages do you have to go through” he asked in a low voice.

He purposely lowered his voice so that the volume does not disturb others around them, but was audible enough for the couple next to them.

True enough, the couple next to them reacted.

They were talking very softly, but their voices could still be heard in the quiet library.

The girl said, “It sounds like Xi Chengyun’s voice.”

Bai Qi said, “Page 331.”

The girl was shocked.

Her voice trembled as she said, “This, this sounds like Bai Qi’s voice.”

Bai Qi was bewildered.

‘Ah, is my voice so recognizable’

Xi Chengyun replied, “Mn.

I’ll be by your side as you study.

If you need something, I’ll go buy it for you.”

The more the girl listened, the more she felt like it was Xi Chengyun’s voice.

She unknowingly pricked up her ears to listen.

Even her boyfriend noticed and couldn’t help but imperceptibly turn to look at them.

They saw the back of the man’s broad shoulders and narrow waist.

The man’s body was leaning towards the other side, but his back was still tall and straight.

His legs underneath the table were bent, with a hand pressed on the table and the other on the back of the other person’s chair.

His huge build blocked most of the other person’s from their sight.

They could see the other person was holding a pen in one hand, and the other on the table.

The person’s fingers were fair, and when they took a closer look, they could see the other person’s fingernails were round.

Then, the man lowered his head and flipped the pages of the book gently.

“But you can’t space out.”

“I’ll give you a kiss each time you space out.”

His voice was calm as if he were talking about how good the weather was.

The girl was shocked.

‘Oh my god!!!’

The boy was shocked.

‘Ah, I am humbled.

Thank you for your teaching!’

The girl fixed her eyes on the people beside her.

Her hand, which was holding a pencil, started to tremble… ‘What is this A forced love Or some sort of ‘library play’’

Bai Qi plopped his head on the table.

‘Mr.

Xi’s acting is pretty good.’ His voice was well-paced and husky, falling gently on his eardrums.

Even the most vulgar words from him sounded full of restraint and not at all provocative.

However, it did sound like Mr.

Xi was being forced to say a line from a weird script.

‘Ah, he sounds like he’s being forced into prostitution.’

Bai Qi’s shoulders trembled as he laughed.

He was laughing so hard, even his fingertips were shaking.

He was worried that he would expose himself, so he turned his head towards Xi Chengyun.

From the back, it looked like he had hurried into Xi Chengyun’s arms.

“…” Xi Chengyun chuckled.

‘Where did all the ‘not losing focus when memorizing’ go’

Xi Chengyun removed his hand from the back of Bai Qi’s chair and pinched the back of Bai Qi’s neck.

The pinch was neither soft nor forceful.

His motion was very natural, as if he was picking something up.

But today, he wasn’t picking ‘something’ up, he was picking Bai Qi up.

Xi Chengyun’s fingertips met smooth and warm skin.

Both of them were startled.

“Don’t pinch me,” Bai Qi said in a small voice.

He quickly straightened his back, looked up, and met Xi Chengyun with twinkling eyes.

Before Xi Chengyun managed to say anything, his phone, which was on silent mode, suddenly began to vibrate.

Xi Chengyun quickly pulled his hand away, however, the warmth from the contact still lingered on the tip of his fingers.

He took his phone, stood up, and walked to the toilet.

Bai Qi sat still and felt his pockets.

Then, his fingers pressed on the book and he began to study.

He really couldn’t fail! He didn’t want to spend a cent on the re-sit exam!

The call was from Xi Chengyun’s studio.

Their PR team always kept an eye on the news on the internet.

A call came as soon as news on Xi Chengyun’s whereabouts was released.

“Would you like to leave Jing University first We’re worried that people would camp outside the university later on,” Little Lin said.

“It’s okay.

I’ll handle it,” Xi Chengyun replied.

Thus, Little Lin had no choice but to hang up nervously.

Xi Chengyun quickly made another call.

Within a jiffy, several people arrived outside the library.

A few looked like bodyguards, and one looked like a manager.

The former stood guard at the entrances of the library, whereas the latter had a talk with the librarian before leaving.

Standing on the third floor, Xi Chengyun looked down through the glass stairs and turned to return back to Bai Qi after the manager had left.

Bai Qi was very focused on his studies.

He didn’t even notice Xi Chengyun.

Xi Chengyun paused, then stood up, took a book titled ‘A Guide to Chinese Culture and Folklore’, and started reading.

After around 10 minutes, a faint bustling sound came from outside the library, but soon, the sound subsided.

The two ended up sitting in the library for 4 hours.

Bai Qi got up twice to use the restroom.

For most people, sitting this way for a long period was utterly unbearable.

However, it was nothing for a student who was preparing for their finals.

Xi Chengyun seldom found himself in such a situation.

He was always rushing for work.

Aside from sleeping, there was not a moment where he was motionless.

Xi Chengyun’s gaze shifted towards Bai Qi.

When Bai Qi unconsciously licked his lips, Xi Chengyun quickly went downstairs to ask a bodyguard to buy them a drink.

“Get us something hot.

Warm water or milk will do.”

“No milk tea or coffee,” Xi Chengyun said in a low voice.

“Those drinks are too high in caffeine.”

The bodyguard nodded and walked away.
