Chapter 9 Injustice

Zhang Lian had three years more teaching experience than Su Muhan, so she was Su Muhan’s senior.

However, Zhang Lian held a grudge against Su Muhan due to the occasional student dispute, so she often used her seniority against Su Muhan and rarely attempted to be polite, either.

“Miss Su, I don’t think it’s appropriate for you to protect your students like that, hmm” Zhang Lian’s lips curled up, her expression remaining as cold as if someone owed her a million dollars.

“Miss Zhang, the situation doesn’t require your opinion.

I wouldn’t protect my student if he was wrong, but I will speak up when he’s innocent!” Su Muhan radiated an intimidating aura.

She didn’t fear Zhang Lian.

“Innocent Miss Su, are you blind Look at my students, especially Li Minghao.

Do you think a normal disagreement would end up with such a severe injury” Zhang Lian directed her accusations at Xiang Ning.

Xiang Xiaoyu fearfully hid behind Xiang Ning when she met Zhang Lian’s murderous glare.

Xiang Ning showed no fear and looked straight at Zhang Lian.

“Miss Zhang, I’ve already explained the situation, it was merely self-defense.

You can check the cameras if you don’t believe me.”

Su Muhan was impressed by his answer.

She had thought Xiang Ning would have been frightened and likely spout something idiotic, but he seemed to have his wits about him based on his tone.

Chicken-Killer Liu now intended to diffuse the situation, because he was working under someone else’s instruction here.

Things could go wrong if they checked the security footage.

But to his dismay, Zhang Lian huffed and remarked, “Fine! Mr Liu, please show us the security footage.”

Liu Ouhai wanted to speak up, but Su Muhan made the same request.

“Mr Liu, show us the footage, please.”

Now Chicken-Killer Liu really felt like killing chickens.

He didn’t want to play the footage, but with so many teachers around he feared they might be suspicious if he refused.

After some thought, he could only agree.

He played the footage and to his surprise, someone coincidentally blocked the camera in the beginning.

The only thing it captured was Xiang Ning’s fist hitting Li Minghao’s face.

That was solid evidence.

Zhang Lian looked at Su Muhan and sarcastically said, “Miss Su, was this the student you were protecting”

Su Muhan coldly smiled.

“Xiang Ning is only a Physical Tempering stage four practitioner, may I ask for Li Minghao’s cultivation level”

“What!” Zhang Lian’s eyes widened.

Even Chicken-Killer Liu and Cao Yuan’s jaws dropped.

Only stage four

The one in the most shock was Li Minghao.

His eyes widened and he was about to speak, but only whimpers left his lips.

What **ing stage four practitioner could beat them up like this He must at least be at the same level as him.

And the way he fought, it felt like Xiang Ning was probably stronger! Stage four my ass! But all he could do was incoherently mumble and the rest treated it as mumbles of humiliation.

All eyes fell on Zhang Lian.

She had no choice but to answer, “Physical Tempering stage eight.”

Now Zhang Lian wanted to kill Li Minghao.

How could the three of them lose to a stage four student!

Fatty Wang indignantly spoke, “And Li Minghao was the one who hit first.

If you don’t believe me, you can ask the rest of the witnesses.

There were so many students there, I’m sure you’ll find someone!”

Su Muhan’s eyes brightened while Chicken-Killer Liu glared at Fatty Wang, quickly interjecting, “I think this’ll be bad for the school’s reputation if it gets out, let’s just call it a day.” The situation could escalate if he didn’t speak up.

“It’s still the truth that Xiang Ning injured his fellow students today.

We aren’t unreasonable people either, so as long as you pay for their medical fees, the matter ends here.

As usual, I’ll have the last say in this.

Xiang Ning only has to pay two thousand dollars, and if that isn’t enough, the school will add on.

If it exceeds the fee amount, we’ll treat it as partial compensation.”

To tell the truth, two thousand dollars wasn’t enough to treat the injuries of the three people.

It was barely enough for Li Minghao alone, because of his broken nose and missing tooth.

Reparation would cost a lot.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t name a higher price because Xiang Ning was a part-timer.

Thus, two thousand dollars was the perfect amount to not be questioned later!

Zhang Lian still wanted to speak, but shut up when Chicken-Killer Liu glared at her, though Su Muhan still questioned, “What No, Xiang Ning’s a part-timer, how will he afford two thousand dollars!”

Xiang Xiaoyu’s face paled when she heard the figure, her eyes tearing up as she tugged on Xiang Ning’s sleeve.

“I want to go home.”

When he saw his little sister panicking, Xiang Ning bristled.

“I’ll pay!” All he wanted to do was bring Xiang Xiaoyu home.

Now it was Fatty Wang’s turn to panic.

Xiang Ning waved him off; he knew that even though he had been ruled innocent, he must still pay for their medical fees.

That didn’t mean he would be silenced; he would make them pay ten times over for the humiliation he had suffered today!

Seeing Xiang Ning’s determination, Fatty Wang patted his shoulder.

“Xiang Ning, today you’ve become my brother.

I was part of the fight too, I’ll help pay up!”

Xiang Ning wanted to say something, but Fatty Wang squeezed his shoulder so he only gratefully looked at him.

To tell the truth, he had to pay for his sister’s school fees now, and without that sum of money, all he would have to eat would be dust and soil.

Fatty Wang generously slammed a card on the table.

“This card contains exactly three thousand dollars, take what you need now.

If I find that you’ve taken even a penny more, I’ll sue you for corruption!”

Liu Ouhai’s mouth twitched but still nodded; his objective had been achieved.

He knew he could bully Xiang Ning because he was both a part-timer and an orphan, so money must have been tight, despite still being able to afford two thousand dollars.

The matter had come to an end.

Xiang Ning led his sister to Su Muhan and said, “Miss Su, I’d like to excuse myself for the rest of the day.”

Su Muhan nodded.

“Alright, I’ll also inform your sister’s teacher.”

“Thank you, Miss Su.” After Xiang Ning thanked her, he turned to Fatty Wang and continued, “Wang Zhe, I’ll return the money I owe you.” He turned and led Xiang Xiaoyu toward the gate while Su Muhan emotionally stared at them.

She was proud, but her heart also ached for them.

Although she wanted to help Xiang Ning, she had done all that she could.

All she could do now was to settle matters on her end so this wouldn’t affect him anymore.

Fatty Wang wanted to follow, but Su Muhan stopped him.

“Wang Zhe, leave them be.

Let them spend some time alone.”

He sighed without a word and followed her back inside.

Xiang Ning clenched his fist.

Being more mature than his peers, he had taken the day’s events in and it was obvious that everything was all a set-up.

Obviously, he had his guesses.

He tightly clutched his sister, feeling like a paper boat in the ocean.

He would have his revenge one day!
